Description
The spiral at the center of this piece is the same shape people have carved into stone and pressed into metal for longer than anyone can trace. I made this for the people who feel something when they see it - who put it on their ankle and find themselves glancing down at it throughout the day.
The spiral is formed from a single continuous copper strip, wound by hand from the center outward, then joined to the band, which I shape separately and gently curve so it sits well against the ankle. People who wear copper on the ankle tell me their joints feel steadier - their knees, their feet, the parts that carry everything.
This is one of the last anklets I will make before I close my workshop. I hope the spiral finds the ankle where it belongs.
